Ordering a Pet Portrait Commission

There are a variety of options available for you, and you have the opportunity to be as hands-on as little or as much as you want. Backgrounds can be added or changed, collars removed, and I am able to combine several different photos to get just the right pose you want. I can even send e-mail progress photos so you can give input.

Portrait Options

Full body or head/neck portrait?

What size portrait do you want? $2 per inch for head portraits and $3 per inch for full body portraits.

Sizes:

  • 8 x 10 inches - 80 inches @ $2 per inch = $160 / @ $3 = $240

  • 9 x 12 inches - 108 inches @ $2 per inch = $216 / @ $3 = $324

  • 11 x 14 inches - 154 inches @ $2 per inch = $308 / @ $3 = $462

  • 12 x 16 inches - 192 inches @ $2 per inch = $384 / @ $3 = $576

Background Options

What kind of background do you want? The standard background is a simple blue/gray or beige, with no detail or added color. A simple blended color background adds an additional $35-$85 to the price, depending on portrait size.

Background:

  • Standard - plain beige or blue/gray - FREE

  • Blended color - 8 x 10 inches - $35

  • Blended color - 9 x 12 inches - $45

  • Blended color - 11 x 14 inches - $60

  • Blended color - 12 x 16 inches - $85

The info above is a ballpark idea of the cost. After discussing options and what you need, you’ll receive an exact quote. A 50% deposit is required on all commissions, balance due upon completion. Once the deposit and all relevant photos and materials are received, I begin the commission.

Progress Updates:

After I have begun work, I can e-mail photos of the portrait in progress, giving you the opportunity to see the painting come to life. Your thoughts and suggestions are invaluable as I cannot meet your pet in person. I want to ensure the personality of your pet shines in the final portrait.

Completion:

I’ll e-mail a digital photo of the finished painting for approval. Balance is due at that time. All portraits are shipped via USPS Priority Mail in the United States and Canada. Shipping and insurance costs are included for shipments in the lower 48 states. Any photos used during the process will be returned with the finished portrait. You’ll be notified the day of shipping with the shipment tracking number.
